Matthew 5:9 Outreach Manager Pastor Anthony Archie serves as an Outreach Manager for One America Movement’s Matthew 5:9 Initiative. He is passionate about building life-giving relationships with diverse groups of people to change the world. Raised in Chicago, Anthony was born into a spiritual and musical family. By the second grade, Anthony read music in the school band and played drums. He also found purpose in student government, serving as student body president, and leading Peer Mediation groups. In his formative years, Anthony found a personal faith in Jesus and began using his gifts of leadership and music within the church. After attending school on a music scholarship, Anthony completed a Master of Divinity degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. During his college experience, he served a wide range of churches in the Tulsa area with his musical gifts. As a result, Anthony cultivated relationships with Christian leaders across the Tulsa metro area. After seminary, Anthony served on the church planting team of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church as the Pastor of Student Ministries. Under his leadership, the student ministry of Kirk Crossing Church was established and continues to grow. The ministry built relationships with city and regional partners, and students regularly served in the community through these partnerships. In 2018, an unprecedented teacher strike in Oklahoma captured America’s attention. After experiencing these educational inequities firsthand, Anthony pivoted to the classroom. He served the students of Tulsa at Edison Preparatory School, one of Tulsa’s most ethnically diverse schools, as a middle school teacher and coach. In 2019, Anthony partnered with other Tulsa Christian leaders to launch The Well, an Evangelical Covenant Church in West Tulsa, where he serves as a teaching pastor. Currently, their church is partnering with Afghan refugees as they resettle in the United States. Anthony’s work at the One America Movement flows from his desire to see diverse people partner together for the common good, especially in Christian spaces. In his free time, Anthony enjoys going to the gym, traveling, going on dates with his wife Chelsea, and spending time with their three young children.
