Campus Professionals: Talk to Your Neighbor Training- Cancel Culture
May 20 @ 1:00 pm—2:30 pm EDT
In today’s world, it’s tempting to remove people from our lives who have different opinions than we do, creating an echo chamber where the only thoughts we hear are ones that mirror our own. It doesn’t take long to fall into unhealthy behavior patterns that reinforce our differences and eliminate the opportunity to work together on the issues that matter. Unfortunately, this growing polarization also gets in the way of many organizations’ missions. When those that we serve aren’t able to communicate meaningfully across political, racial, or other divides we are all left impoverished. Join us for an interactive workshop for campus professionals to learn a methodology on how to have productive, meaningful discussions with people who don’t think, vote, or believe the same way you do. We will use the topic of cancel culture as a springboard to discuss conversations across difference more broadly.
