Jewish Faith Network

Who We Are

The Jewish Faith Network supports Jewish clergy in navigating the toxic polarization within their congregations and in the broader American society. Our work combines Jewish wisdom with the latest in social science and neuroscience to support faith leaders in assessing and addressing the spiritual crisis of toxic polarization.

The Jewish Faith Network works with Jewish faith leaders and Jewish communities to build a united American society and eliminate toxic polarization through intra-faith and multi-faith collaboration, cohort learning, peer-to-peer learning, and local and national outreach.

What We Believe

Jewish tradition provides guidance in how we should engage in conversations across difference in many places. Two sources that we find motivating are:

Eilu v’eilu divrei Elohim chayim– These and Those are the words of the living God – Eiruvin 13b

Be of disciples of Aaron, loving peace and pursuing peace, loving the created and bringing them closer to Torah.Pirkei Avot 1:12

The One America Movement, as an organization, is also motivated by the core values of our organization. In a Jewish frame, we interpret them as:

Challenge (אֹמֶץ לֵב Omeitz Lev – Courage)
Bring the strength of one’s own conviction to conversation

Difference (אוֹהֵב אֶת הַבְּרִיּוֹת Oheiv et haBriyot –Loving the Creations)

Valuing the beauty in all humanity in its variety

Dignity (כָּבוֹד Kavod – Honor)
Giving every person the weight of respect

Faith (לּוֹמֵד עַל מְנָת לַעֲשׂוֹת Lomeid al m’nat la-asot – Learning in order to do)
Drawing upon Jewish traditions to guide our work

Substance (יוֹשֶׁר Yosher – Integrity)
Doing for real reasons not for show

Trust (בִּטָּחוֹן Bitachon – Trust)
Developing confidence in one another
