Joe Slade is the Vice President of Operations, focusing on the organization’s finances, human resources, legal compliance, IT, and anything else that enables the One America Movement team to spend their time addressing toxic political polarization.

Joe’s career has been spent working behind the scenes in support of communities of all kinds. Prior to joining the One America Movement, Joe worked in higher education; overnight camping; and the Jewish nonprofit world, where he spent 10 years as a synagogue Executive Director.

Joe has two degrees in philosophy, from the University of Chicago and Georgia State University. No one is more surprised than Joe that he regularly does math for a living.

Joe and his wife Alison have two children and live in northern New Jersey, not far from New York City. When not working or parenting, Joe can most likely be found riding a bicycle or building solid wood furniture in his garage.
