Marion Ekpuk
Marion Ekpuk is a leadership coach, facilitator, and retired diplomat who recently completed a distinguished career with the U.S. Department of State, retiring with the senior rank of Minister Counselor. Throughout her career, she was a catalyst for enterprise-wide innovation and training that aligned business processes with organizational values in pursuit of desired results. Her most recent domestic leadership role was as an Associate Dean for the Leadership and Management School in the Department’s training facility, the Foreign Service Institute. Abroad, Ms. Ekpuk held leadership positions around the world, including as Deputy Chief of Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Other foreign posts include Nigeria, The Republic of Benin, Mexico, The Netherlands, and Afghanistan. Domestic assignments include Senior Advisor to the Director General of the Foreign Service, Executive Director overseeing budget and operations for the Economic and Energy Affairs bureaus, and several Director positions leading strategy formulation and service delivery.
Ms. Ekpuk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Stanford University and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College. She holds Executive Certificates in Facilitation and Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, and speaks French, Spanish, and Dutch. She currently lives with her family in northern Virginia.
