Q: You are a first-generation American with Haitian immigrant parents. How has that knowledge and your lived experiences affected how you approach opportunities presented to you?
I think it makes me have more of an understanding of how opportunities can change your life. If I really want something, I’ll go after it because I don’t know when I’ll be able to again.
Q: You love to travel and try to visit one international place every year. What, to date, is the favorite spot you’ve visited, and why?
This is extremely hard to choose, but if I had to say, it was Italy! The people, views, and food were all so amazing. I went with my best friend and we had beautiful dinners by the Almafi coast, saw the Bruno Mars concert in Milan, and visited France and Switzerland. It was such an incredible trip and I’d love to go back and visit.
Q: What made you decide to join the One America team?
I wanted to join the One America Movement because the mission was unlike anything I’ve ever heard. Being in spaces where you have the opportunity to bring unlikely people together to talk about subjects that concern everyone is crucial to coming to an understanding. I love that I’m part of an organization that not only talks the talk but is also taking action to make sure these discussions and ideas have results.
