Ibad Wali

Shaykh Ibad is the Senior Muslim Advisor for The One America Movement. He has served as the Director of Halal Certification for Majlis Ash-Shura: Islamic Leadership Council of New York in partnership with the NYC Department of Education public schools, which has currently certified and monitors over 100 public school kitchens to serve halal food. He also served as the Muslim Chaplain of Hofstra University and is engaged in various chaplaincy work and interfaith initiatives in the tri-state area. He has specialized in and provides Islamic guidance on the Islamic Law of Inheritance.

The Shaykh serves on the Board of Directors for Council on American-Islamic Relations of New York (CAIR-NY), which aims to protect civil rights for all, promote justice, and empower American Muslims. He has served as the Executive Director and Resident Scholar of Hillside Islamic Center, NY, and, as the COR, established the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and Cub Scouts program for the New Hyde Park community.

Shaykh Ibad completed the rigorous seven year Islamic Seminary Program (‘Alimiyyah) in 2011 from Darul Uloom NY and the Institute of Islamic Education, IL with numerous certifications (ijazah) in various Islamic sciences and their methodologies. He holds a Bachelor's Degrees in Computer Science and Business and Liberal Arts from Queens College, NY, as well as a Master's Degree in Middle Eastern Studies from CUNY Graduate Center. He was trained as a chaplain at Northshore University Hospital's Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program.
