Matt Hawkins

One America Movement Board Chair Matthew Hawkins delivers over 20 years of experience from the intersection of religion and public life. Matt served 17 years with the Southern Baptist Convention, including eight years in federal government relations (Washington, D.C.).

Prior to his current post as Senior Acquisitions Editor with B&H Publishing Group, he taught as an adjunct instructor of philosophy (Columbia State Community College, TN) and co-hosted the Crossing Faiths Podcast. Matt's writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, ERLC.com, TheGospelCoalition.org, and The Rhetoric of Religious Freedom in the United States.

He holds a B.B.A. (Belmont U.), an M.A. in Ethics and Public Affairs (George Mason University), and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Theology (Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, NC). Matt lives with his family in Lebanon, TN. Learn more at matthewthawkins.com.
